Maurizio Fiume

was born in Naples in 1961. He wrote his first treatment and screenplay, In nome di Giancarlo – l’assassinio Siani, in 1987, for which he won the Cinema Democratico award for Best Unpublished Treatment. In 1990 he was the co-author of the screenplay of feature film Il Tuffo (1993) directed by Massimo Martella (Venice 1993, Settimana Internazionale della Critica), Kodak award for best first film and winner of the Special Jury Award at the Annecy film festival, Best Screenplay award at the Grosseto Film Script Festival. In  1991 he wrote and directed the docu-drama In nome di Giancarlo, winner of the Filmmaker Immagini di realtà award and directed the documentary Vesuvio- Il gigante che dorme. In 1995 he wrote, directed and produced the short film Drogheria, Pardi di domani selected for the Locarno International Film Festival, and given a special mention at the 1996 Nastro d'Argento awards. In 1996 he co-wrote and directed the film Isotta, made with the support of Eurimages and co-produced with Greece and Portugal. The film was presented at the Venice Film Festival in 1996 in the Settimana del Cinema Italiano section, and won the NICE/Sulmona award at the Sulmonacinema Festival as well as the Special Jury Award at the Messina Film Festival. In 2001 he wrote and cosceneggiato the short film Blocco 101, directed by Daniele Gaglianone In 2002 he wrote and directed the documentary TRIBUNALI-reportage sui Tribunali di Milano, Torino, Roma and the short film CONFINI, starring prisoners from Casa Circondariale di Pescara.

In 2002-2003 he wrote and directed the film E io ti seguo, now in distribution.

 

in production, in 1989 he started working as production manager and line producer for the films Io, Peter Pan  (1989 PRISMA SEVEN. NAPOLI) and Ladri di futuro  (1990 SIGNORE & SIGNORI. NAPOLI). In 1990 and 1991 he worked at COMPACT, ROMA/RAISAT as assistant to producer Maurizio Tini and post-production coordinator on the film-documentary series Notti d'Europa  (13 episodes). In 1990 he founded the Riverfilm Cooperative and served initially as CEO (1990-1992) and later as president of board of directors (1992-1997). In 2000 he formed icarowebfilm where, currently, he is CEO. 1992-93 Executive Producer at RIVERFILM of Il tuffo, directed by Massimo Martella. 1994 Production Manager at LUMIERE, MILANO/TEATRI UNITI, NAPOLI of the short film Miracoli/Mastronunzio Pittore Sannita directed by Mario Martone. 1995 Co-producer at RIVERFILM of short film Drogheria. 1995-96 Co-producer at RIVERFILM of feature film Isotta, co-produced with Greece and Portugal with the support of Eurimages. 1997 Executive Producer at ASSOCIAZIONE L'ATLANTE, NAPOLI of short film ISAAC A PONTICELLI  directed by Paolo Barrella – selected at ARCIPELAGO 1998. 1999 Executive Producer at RIVERFILM of short film PUGNI NELL'ARIA, directed by Roberto De Francesco. Selected at Venice Film Festival 1999. 1999-2000 Executive Producer at ALIA FILM - AFA FILM of feature film “of national cultural interest” VIVA LA SCIMMIA, directed by Marco Colli and with Giuliana De Sio, Lunetta Savino and Giovanni Esposito.

2001 Co-producer and Executive Producer at ICAROWEBFILM of short film BLOCCO 101, directed by Daniele Gaglianone, presented at the 19th Torino Film Festival, in the international shorts section. July 2001 Organized in Rome and Genoa for Luna Rossa Cinematografia and producer Mauro Berardi the documentary on the events surrounding the Genoa G8 summit meeting coordinated by Francesco Maselli and directed by 31 Italian directors (including Monicelli, Scola, F. Comencini, Tognazzi, Segre, Scimeca etc) entitled UN MONDO DIVERSO E’ POSSIBILE and GENOVA PER NOI. In recent years he has worked as consultant for numerous production companies working on the feasability and starting-up of numerous features by directors such as Crescimone, Corsicato, Martone, Greco, Incerti, Pannone, Gian Vittorio Baldi, Terracciano, Muccino, Bocchi, Marrazzo, Tibaldi, Bruschetta, Rondolino, Fabio Rosi, Luca Verdone and collaborated on the feasability of various shorts by young directors including Ivan Cotroneo, Paolo Sorrentino, Roberto De Francesco, Werter Germondari, Eros Puglielli, Daniele Gaglianone
