Synopsis |

Dreamy
and bittersweet, this Italian comedy chronicles the fantasies of an
overweight dreamer. All her life the rotund and thirtyish Isotta has
had a propensity for day dreams. Born too thin, her overprotective
mother too soon fattened her up, thereby insuring a life of obesity
for her daughter. When not dreaming away her days or working at a
factory, Isotta deals with her father's compulsive gambling habit
and hangs out with her friends Luisa and Caterina. One day, Isotta
meets a handsome Greek salesman and they become friends. Things are
fine until she misinterprets his friendship for something else. ~

Ispirato liberamente
Synopsis
At only 22 years of
age Giancarlo begins working for a daily newspaper as correspondent in an
unfamiliar and violent city not particularly keen on being chronicled by an
outsider.
An unflagging
commitment brings him his first successes until he unleashes the anger of
Camorra bosses and powerful men who plot to kill him.
“I
will follow”
is loosely based on the true story of Giancarlo Siani, a young Neapolitan
journalist, who was killed by the Camorra at age 26. Siani was condemned to
die for his inexhaustible passion for the truth, for investigative
journalism, and for his stubborn drive to simply tell about the world that
surrounded him.
“I
will follow”
was the soothing hypocritical affirmation with which everyone around
Giancarlo – whether in the editorial office, police precinct, or court room
– invited him to go ahead with his journalistic investigations promising to
back him once evidence became irrefutable and the game easier. But the only
people to truly follow him were his killers.
